Eastern offers several tutoring options for students in writing, reading, math, science and other subjects.

TRiO Student Support Services

TRiO Student Support Services is a support system to help students succeed. Professional tutoring services are available in Wilburton and McAlester, and appointments can also be made by Zoom. Visit the TRiO Student Support Services webpage to learn about other services offered.

Writing Center Online Consulting

Eastern tutors offer free online consulting for writing projects. Our goal is to provide assistance throughout the writing process, from selecting a topic to a final proofread.

Complete the Writing Center Online Consulting Form to have a tutor review your paper and provide feedback on the writing process.


Subject-Specific Tutoring

Student-tutors can assist with math, general science, and chemistry. Tutoring is available both in-person and online. To enroll, please visit the library or contact Laura Myers.

In-Person Tutoring: Eastern Library

Online Tutoring: Join Google Meets using the log-in information listed below. Tutors will be online and available during their listed hours to help any students who need to join virtually. Online Tutoring is available to students on all EOSC campuses.

Free Online Tutoring Available for EOSC students!

Through a partnership with Tutor.com, the University Advising Center offers 24/7 online tutoring that connects you one-to-one with a subject expert tutor the minute you need assistance. The tutoring service is easy to use and can be accessed from any internet-enabled computer or mobile device.

Online tutoring is available in over 35 subject areas, including:

  • Math – Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry
  • Science – General, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy, and Physiology
  • Real-time and Drop-off Writing Support
  • Grammar, Literature, Reading, Spanish, French
  • History, Geography, Psychology
  • Business – Accounting, Finance, Economics

The program also offers resources such as study tools, lessons, test prep materials, and instructional videos.
 

How to Access on Blackboard:

  • Go to the "Tutor.com" link on the course menu (left side) of any course you are currently enrolled in
  • Select your topic, and subject and fill out the question or concept you would like tutoring assistance with
  • After you work with a tutor, you can:
  • Print your session or share it via email or Facebook
  • Review your session again at any time
  • Save your tutor as a “Favorite”

How to Prepare for a Tutoring Session:

  • Please have a question or concept ready that you would like to review with a tutor. Enter your question and any important notes in the pre-session survey. This will save you time while you are in a session with a tutor.
  • You can attach a file or screenshot of something you would like help with by clicking “share a file,” both on the pre-session request form and in the Tutor.com online classroom.
